Puerto Rican Literature (SPAN 352)
World Languages and Cultures Department, Northeastern Illinois University, Spring 2017.
This course offers a panoramic view of Puerto Rican literature, from its origins, to the literary expressions pertaining to the Latin American Avant-Garde Movement. The principal literary movements of Puerto Rican literature will be studied and analyzed, through its history, in various literary genres.
Capstone Seminar: José Martí
World Languages and Cultures Department, Northeastern Illinois University, Spring 2016.
Taught a critical study of the life and work of the Cuban poet, essayist and political philosopher José Martí (1853-1895), the Capstone Seminar for that semester.

Taught advanced level students the principal characteristics of both Hispanic American Modernism and the Latin American Vanguard, and required intensive research exploring comparisons between the two movements.
